About the Fit Pig
My name is Meagan and I am a twenty something, oatmeal loving, wine drinking, student living in Austin, Texas! I am a Senior at the University of Texas getting my bachelors degree in Communication Studies, focusing on human relations. I’m not really sure where I see myself after walking across the stage at graduation, however I am constantly learning more about myself each day to try and figure that out!
I live with my boy-frannnn, Diego, as well as my two cats, Chimi (short for Chimichanga, hehe) and Little Bit. These three add craziness to my life, but I love them all to death!
When I’m not going to school, or lost in the blogosphere, I like to spend time with my friends and family. My family is very important to me, and they definitely have shaped me to be who I am today. Both my mom and my sister are two of my best friends.
To say I love food would be an understatement. I enjoy ALL types of food, and I have an extreme sweet tooth! When I’m not eating and/or cooking, you can probably find me searching new recipes, reading blogs about food, or researching new restaurants to try! I am constantly on the look out for new restaurants in good ole’ Austin, Texas to try out – so recommendations are always welcome!
I aim to eat a healthy diet, most of the time. I am all about a healthy balance in life, so I am totally okay with a big bowl of froyo or a glass of wine every once (or twice, or three times) in a while. I choose to eat foods that make me feel good inside and out, and I have found that all natural, whole foods usually do that for me. I love finding new ways to incorporate these types of foods into my everyday meals!
But above all else, I LOVE food….
Exercise and fitness are a huge part of my life, and have been since I was in high school. When I was 15, I started running with my mom, which was a turning point in my life. Ever since my feet hit the pavement for the first time, running has become a very important part of my life. While I don’t do a lot of races, I use running as my go to de-stresser and favorite way to exercise. The feeling you get after a long run is indescribable.
Thanks for stopping by!
